Differentiation

The setting for this assignment is a moderate/severe special education classroom. Differentiation for this assignment is to be offered based on level of need for each student. Students of higher ability are expected to write complete sentences to embellish their answers after filling in the blanks. Students of lower ability will be provided with a copy of the text, and given support to locate and highlight the main ideas before completing the sentence templates. Students will watch teacher modelling to use book creator, and then given further prompting from paraprofessionals as needed to complete the steps of the assignment. Read aloud extensions can be utilized to support students who benefit from hearing the text.
